What Can You Do With A Developer Unlock Windows Phone?

Hi guys,

I’m here to show you what all you could do with a developer unlocked windows phone phone.

Because of the current state of Lumia 800, which has a locked bootloader and we cannot root it, we are stuck with nothing else other than DEVELOPER UNLOCK!
So now before you start scratching your heads and asking what is developer unlock, let me tell you that this type of unlock can be done to ANY Windows phone, and you can deploy a number of XAPs (Apps and games) to your device including special DEVELOPER Patched GAMES (Xbox live) and other OEM’s apps to your device, also you can deploy homebrews which are cooked to tweak the system a bit for better usage.

Now once you got this done…What are the apps and stuff you could use to deploy?

Here is what i use…

THEMES (TILES) : 

This application updated thanks to Jaxbot from windowsphonehacker.
The application is in 2 parts, the theme has to be made from an executable file on a computer, once your theme is made save it as XAP and deploy it to your device. Only 1 theme can be installed at a time by this method.

So Jaxbot made a XAP that has to be deployed to the device and has its own gallery of themes which can be downloaded within that application itself giving you more choices.

SCREEN CAPTURE :

Take screenshots in any part of the OS, including HD games, Apps, Start Screen, Menu , Lockscreen etc.
You need to start the application , click on “Start Screen Task” , click on Windows Button, now use the camera key to take a screen shot.
There is a time limit after which the app gets disabled. 1 minimum time and 5 for maximum.
Now just go back to the app and you should see your screen shots there, tap to save them, they ill be saved in the “saved pictures” album.

Orientation Lock :

There is also Orientation lock where u can disable auto rotate and everything stays in portrait mode, it has a feature where you can pin the app to the tiles and 1 tap Enable and disable.

KEEP ALIVE :

This application allows the WIFI to run in the backgroud even when the screen is locked, since many people say this is needed and its very useful to have your WIFI ON when you need it if u have low cellular network coverage.This can be disabled by restarting phone or disable WIFI in settings.
