Sony Launches Tablet S And Tablet P In India


Sony Corporation today officially announced the launch of two Android-powered tablet PCs in India, the Tablet S and the Tablet P. The Tablet S features a 23.8-cm (9.4-inch) screen and is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor. The unique wedge shaped design packs in 1 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Tablet P features a clamshell design with a 13.9-cm (5.5-inch) screen. Both the tablets run on the Android 3.2 OS.
The Tablet S comes with 16 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card whereas the Tablet P comes with 4 GB of internal storage. The Tablet S also enables users to wirelessly sync tablet with DLNA-compatible devices including PCs, Bravia televisions and others, thereby allowing them to share and play files--audio, video and images--on bigger screens.
The tablets are also the first series of PlayStation-certified tablets on which games for PlayStation-certified devices including original PlayStation games can be played, and popular titles such as Crash Bandicoot and Pinball Heroes come pre-installed. 
As of now, only Tablet S (16 GB, Wi-Fi) is available in the market; it is priced at Rs 29,990. The 3G + Wi-Fi models of Tablet S (16 GB) and Tablet P (4 GB) priced at Rs 33,990 and Rs 36,990, respectively, will be available from mid-January 2012.
